Confucius Institute at UEM began enrolling undergraduate Chinese major students in 2016, The length of study for Chinese majors is four years. Students who have obtained a high school diploma can register and apply for this major.The Chinese major enrolls one day class and one night class every year. The language used in class is: Chinese and English.

根据培养方案，学生修完规定课程，达到240学分，且通过学位论文答辩，即可获得毕业证书和学士学位证书。

According to the training plan, students can obtain graduation certificate and bachelor's degree certificate after completing prescribed course, reaching 240 credits and passing the thesis defense.

开设课程分为必修课和选修课。必修课包括：公共必修课，专业必修课。其中专业必修课程有：汉语听说，汉语读写，汉葡互译，汉语写作，历史经典选读等；专业选修课程有：中国功夫、中国文化专题等；

The courses offered include compulsory courses and elective courses. Compulsory courses include: public compulsory courses and professional compulsory courses. Professional compulsory courses include: Chinese listening and speaking, Chinese reading and writing, Chinese-Portuguese translation, Chinese composition, Selective reading of historical classics, etc. Professional elective courses include: Chinese Kungfu, Chinese cultural topics, etc.
